Music Training

In addition to my work in computer music, I am a classically-trained violist with an esteemed performance record. I studied privately with the late Dr. William Magers, Professor Emeritus of Viola at Arizona State University, and Roland Vamos of Northwestern University. At summer residencies I studied with Charles Pickler, principal violist of the Chicago Symphony, Evan Wilson, former principal violist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the late Stephen Clapp, Dean Emeritus of the Juilliard School. I have also participated in masterclasses with famous ensembles, most notably with the Leipzig String Quartet. I played in several professional ensembles while living in Germany, including Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt and Philharmonie Leipzig.
